Why StadiumBee?

I’ve heard other people complain about it before: a foul pole in front of their view, signage on the glass in front of them, a rowdy section when you have young children with you, overpaying for parking, and so on. I guess it was only a matter of time before it happened to me.

I was taking a girl out on a date to a baseball game. I wanted to impress her, so I spent over $200 dollars on lower level tickets so we would have great seats. As fate would have it, we had part of another section partially blocking our field of view for the game.

I was disappointed and more so frustrated. This is not what I wanted, and not what I had paid for. If there was just a way for me to know about this ahead of time, I would have enjoyed my afternoon instead of stewing over this ‘sore’ in my side. It got me thinking – there must be a better way?!

What if we wanted a certain ambiance to fit our date? What if there was a better date spot in the park, and I didn’t know it? What if my date had allergies, and we needed to know where to eat in the park? Do I need to miss two innings walking the concourse? That doesn’t make any sense in today’s day and data-driven age. My mind kept running through hundreds of scenarios in my head. Hundreds of what ifs. I quickly realized that there wasn’t a simple, unified place to get this information.

StadiumBee was born. The mission was to empower sports fans by providing them with consumer and fan generated information, reviews, tips and more so they could better decide how to shape their game day. It’s simple, yet powerful. And the teams and venues would love this information to better understand where they are falling short on delivering a great game day experience to improve as well. It’s a win-win for everyone.

We’re launching first in Detroit, and will quickly spread to other markets across the U.S. If I can stop a few people from having the disappointment that I had, then I’ve done my job.
